Voice Quality Tips
The quality of your cloned voice directly affects how natural your assistant sounds to callers. Follow these tips to get the best results.
Recording Tips
Environment
- Record in a quiet room — avoid fans, AC units, or street noise
- Use a carpeted room or hang blankets to reduce echo
- Close windows and doors before recording
Equipment
- Use a dedicated microphone (USB or XLR) — phone microphones often add compression artifacts
- Position the mic 6–12 inches from your mouth
- Use a pop filter to reduce plosive sounds ("p", "b", "t")
Delivery
- Speak at a natural, conversational pace — not too fast, not too slow
- Use varied intonation — avoid reading in a flat, monotone voice
- Record several emotional tones: neutral, friendly, professional
- Avoid filler words (um, uh) where possible
Script Tips for Better Cloning
Include the following in your voice sample:
- Common phrases your assistant will use frequently
- Numbers and dates ("Your appointment is on March 15th at 2 PM")
- Questions and statements (mix of sentence types)
- Short and long sentences (variety in rhythm)
After Uploading
- Always preview your cloned voice before using it in production
- If consonants sound soft, upload a longer sample (3–5 minutes)
- If the voice sounds robotic, try recording at a slower pace
