How Calls Work
EchoParrot handles both inbound and outbound calls using AI-powered voice assistants. Here's how the entire call process works.
Inbound Calls
When a customer calls your assigned phone number:
- The call is routed to your active assistant
- The assistant greets the caller using your configured script
- Speech recognition converts the caller's responses to text in real time
- The AI processes the input and selects the appropriate response
- The assistant speaks the response using your configured voice
- The conversation continues until the call ends or is transferred
Outbound Calls
For campaigns or follow-up calls:
- Upload a list of contacts (CSV) or trigger a call via API
- The assistant dials each contact at the scheduled time
- If the call is answered, the assistant begins the conversation
- If voicemail is detected, the assistant can leave a pre-recorded message
- Results are logged in the Dashboard in real time
Real-Time Processing
EchoParrot uses low-latency speech-to-text and text-to-speech pipelines to keep conversations natural. Average response time is under 800ms.
Call Recording & Transcription
All calls are automatically:
- Recorded (can be disabled in Settings)
- Transcribed with speaker labels
- Summarized using AI for quick review
You can access all call data from the Calls section of your Dashboard.
